3 restaurants that closed in Mississauga, Caledon and Hamilton in April 2025

Restaurants come and go, but some leave a bigger mark than others. From popular pizza spots to family-run eateries, a few familiar names closed their doors in Ontario this month.

Pizza Pizza

One of Mississauga’s longest-running Pizza Pizza locations has closed after 18 years.

The Pizza Pizza inside Sheridan Centre, located at 2255 Erin Mills Parkway, appears to have permanently shut its doors. The location has been removed from the company website and marked closed on Google. A photo posted to Reddit shows the signage taken down.

The restaurant served a variety of pizza, wings, chicken bites, and fries, making it a familiar stop for shoppers and students over the years.

Online reactions reflect the restaurant’s long-standing place in the community, with many recalling visits during high school and mall outings.

It’s unclear what will replace the space, but another Pizza Pizza location remains open nearby at 2273 Dundas St. W.

Balle Balle Heritage Farm

Balle Balle Heritage Farm in Caledon has closed after a health inspection revealed multiple violations.

Peel Public Health found over a dozen violations at the restaurant, located at 13219 Chinguacousy Rd., including unsafe food storage temperatures, a lack of handwashing stations, and the absence of certified food handlers during operating hours.

The restaurant, which opened in September 2024, served a variety of Punjabi dishes, including paranthas, their house special Makki di Roti and Saag and a selection of freshly made desserts.

Following the inspection, the restaurant posted on social media saying it would close for renovations.

There is no confirmed reopening date at this time.

Caro Bambino

An Italian restaurant in Hamilton has closed after serving the community for seven years.

Caro Bambino, the sister restaurant to Caro on James, shut down its Ottawa Street location. Known for Italian staples like pizza, pasta and sandwiches, the restaurant cited the ongoing challenges faced by small businesses as the reason for the closure.

In a post shared on social media, the owners thanked customers for their support and said the team would continue operating at their James Street location, which remains open.
