24 C weather with sunshine and rain headed to southern Ontario this week

It's going to be hot, rainy and sunny in southern Ontario

There will be lots of sunshine this week with occasional rain, while spring temperatures are expected to climb above 24 C in southern Ontario.

As of today (April 28), the forecast calls for mainly cloudy skies and a 60 per cent chance—very likely— of rain, which may turn into a thunderstorm. Brisk winds gusting at 40 km/h could begin late afternoon and may calm down by the evening. Temperatures will rise to 23 C and hold steady throughout most of the day. By evening, temperatures will drop to 10 C under increasingly cloudy skies, with a 40 per cent chance of additional rain.

The week kicks off on Monday with mostly cloudy skies and a mild start, but we won’t let that dampen our spirits! By the afternoon, winds from the east at 20 km/h, gusting to 40 km/h, are anticipated, with temperatures peaking at a cool 14 C.  You might want to keep an umbrella handy as there’s a 40 per cent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm by the evening, with temperatures falling to 10 C.

On Tuesday, clouds continue to dominate the sky, bringing a 60 per cent chance of showers. Daytime temperatures will warm up to a pleasant 21 C. The cloudy periods might persist into the evening as temperatures slip to 9 C.

Wednesday brings a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures heating up to 23 C. It’s an ideal day for a stroll in the park or a quick lunch outside. The skies will turn cloudy as the evening approaches, and temperatures will dip to 11 C.

According to Environment Canada, on Thursday, temperatures will soar to 24 C—making it the hottest day of the entire week. The day will be mainly cloudy with sunny breaks throughout. It’s going to be another cloudy evening with a 40 per cent possibility of rain. Temperatures will shift to 13 C, making it the warmest night of the week.

On Friday, the week winds down under cloudy skies, yet there’s still a chance to dodge the 40 per cent chance of showers. Temperatures are expected to hover around 21 C, making it a great day for those last-minute outdoor errands. Overcast skies will continue into the evening with temperatures dipping to a low of 9 C. There is also a 40 per cent chance of rain returning in the evening.

The weekend will greet residents with a mix of sun and clouds and with a comfortable high of 18 C. Closer to the evening, temperatures will plummet to a slightly chilly 8 C, making it the coolest night out of the week.

The following week promises consistent sunshine with daily temperatures ranging between 16 C and 17 C.
