Winner of $12.5 million lottery prize revealed in Canada, lotto max

Two people have come forward to claim a massive lottery prize in Ontario from a draw that happened more than three months ago.

On Dec. 30, after a number of draws, an $80 million Lotto Max jackpot was finally won.

Just one ticket matched seven out of seven numbers to win the massive prize.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation said at the time that it was sold somewhere in London, Ontario.

It marked the first time in Ontario that the $80 million jackpot was won by a single ticket.

OLG spokesperson Tony Bitonti told INsauga.com that a group of two people from London have come forward to claim the massive prize.

“I can confirm that the ticket was presented to the prize centre,” Bitonti said, adding that he learned of it last Thursday.

It’s not clear when exactly they came forward.

In February, INsauga.com reported that the OLG had not yet been in contact with the winner or winners.

Bitonti said at the time that it isn’t unusual for big winners to take a while to claim their prize.

He said that the OLG has seen this many times with people who have won over $50 million.

“They want to get financial advisors, lawyers, etc. set up before they come in,” Bitonti said.

Now that the ticket has been presented to the OLG, the prize claim process is underway.

“We are currently working with the group,” Bitonti said.

Once the process is complete, the OLG will reveal the winners’ names and their stories, Bitonti added.
