187 new cases of COVID-19 in Peel Region, 108 in Brampton and 67 in Mississauga

The Region of Peel is reporting 187 new COVID-19 cases as of Friday (May 28).

This brings the total for the Region to 108,752 cases. Of these, 106,011 have recovered, while 1,981 are still pending, 2,982 have been hospitalized, and 761 have died.

Of Friday’s new cases, 108 are in Brampton, while 67 are in Mississauga, and just nine are in Caledon.

As of Friday, 59.7 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36 per cent are in Mississauga, and just four per cent are in Caledon.

The median age for cases in Peel is 36, and residents in their 20’s continue to make up most of the cases at 24.5 per cent, followed by those in their 30’s–who make up 17.3 per cent of cases, those in their 40’s–who make up 14.4 per cent, and those in their 50’s who make up 13.8 per cent.

The Province is reporting 1,273 new cases on Friday, as well as 14 new deaths. This brings Ontario’s total cases to 528,453.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 159,775 vaccinations on Thursday (May 27), bringing the total number of vaccinations to 8,690,473, with 624,920 residents having been fully vaccinated.
