A Hamilton couple are elated after winning a MaxMillions prize worth $1 million

Cuong Khai Ha and Wei Yan are avid Lotto Max players and purchased a ticket for the draw on Oct. 11. They checked their ticket using the OLG App when they discovered their big win.

“It’s hard to describe the feeling — just happy,” Wei shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up their winnings.

The couple plans to pay off their mortage and put the balance of their winnings into savings.

“This will make things less stressful for us,” Cuong said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shell Select on Appleby Line in Burlington. Lotto Max is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Since 2009, Lotto Max players in Ontario have won over $7.5 billion, including 95 jackpot wins and 842 MaxMillions prizes.

In-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto can be booked over the phone (1-800-387-0098). Players with claims between $1,000 and $49,999.90 are strongly encouraged to submit them online or mail them in.
