$1 million lottery ticket sold in this Canadian city expires soon

Lotto Max lottery jackpot won Canada, prize still unclaimed

A lottery ticket worth $1 million will expire in a few weeks if someone doesn’t come forward to claim the prize.

The British Columbia Lottery Corporation said that a Lotto Max ticket sold in Surrey, BC won a maxmillion prize in the May 21, 2024 draw.

The $1 million remains unclaimed.

Individuals who bought a ticket in Surrey for the draw were encouraged to check to see if they matched the winning numbers.

The winning numbers for the prize were 2, 5, 23, 30, 35, 45, and 46, the BCLC said.

“All lottery prize winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on their ticket to come forward to claim their prize,” the corporation said, meaning the ticket will expire at midnight on May 21.

“The specific retail location where the winning lottery ticket was purchased, and the lottery winner’s name, will be announced after the winner has come forward to claim the prize.”

Meanwhile, in Ontario, there are two weeks left to claim a lottery prize for a ticket sold in Hamilton.

The Lotto Max second prize, worth $144,943, is from the Tuesday, April 16, 2024 draw, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation said in a press release on Wednesday.
