Halton police are asking witnesses to come forward following an alcohol-fueled brawl in Burlington which landed two victims in hospital with stab wounds.

“It started as a four-on-four fight,” said Det. Joe Barr, adding “we’re having a difficult time establishing who did what.”

Officers responded to a call in Aldershot at 53 Plains Rd. E. – or Solid Gold adult entertainment club – on Aug. 6 at 12:30 a.m.

That’s where a group of at least eight people had words.

“All of the participants involved in the fight were male,” said Barr.

An argument escalated and one of the suspects used a small pocket knife to stab two people involved in the exchange, he said.

The incident, while “still serious,” is minor in the grand scheme of things, said Barr, considering “no one knew a knife had been used.”

One victim, he said, has a more serious injury: a broken arm.

The victims are being treated in hospital for minor stab wounds and are expected to fully recover, police say.

No arrests have been made, however, investigators have identified everyone involved and are continuing to interview them, said Barr.

Witnesses who may have seen the incident or who have information are asked to phone Det. Joe Barr at the 3 District Criminal Investigation Bureau at (905) 825-4747 ext. 2385 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
