Your Holiday Shopping Guide to Square One in Mississauga

Published December 16, 2016 at 7:43 pm

When you walk towards Square One from the bustling MiWay station, it’s impossible not to notice the chic facade and gorgeous lighted fixtures adorning one of Mississauga’s most beloved and iconic landmarks. The entrance is as welcoming as it is luxurious, beckoning shoppers with the promise of incredible retailers, delicious dining options, and memorable, on-trend holiday decor.

Since Christmas is just a little over a week away, it’s imperative to get all that last minute shopping done before the big day hits and, lucky for you, you can do it in style at Ontario’s biggest shopping centre, right here in Mississauga.

While Square One is popular all year round, abuzz with people browsing, shopping, eating and socializing, it’s especially busy during the holiday season—and for good reason. The centre offers a little something extra for everyone when it comes to staying on trend.

“We’re very excited about the #SQ1SLAY social media program,” says Toni Holley, marketing director at Square One. “Each week we have had a social media influencer come to the shopping centre for an Instagram takeover and shopping spree.”

Such influencers included BFFs and mom vloggers, Cat & Nat, fashion influencer, Brett Poschmann, and E! News host, Tyrone Edwards. The mall also hosted a day with over 30 local social media stars and #SQ1SLAY trended on Twitter.

“Coming up soon, we have fashion influencer Chloe Zhang, who will take over the shopping centre in style,” says Holley.

While the shopping centre has always done its part to highlight new, innovative, and classic retailers, it also does its best to achieve excellence in every aspect of the guest experience.

“Since parking is always a big topic of conversation this time of year,” says Holley, “we’ve enhanced our online parking map to help make holiday parking a breeze.”

The 10 Ways to Parking interactive map, featured on Square One shopping centre’s newly updated website, not only displays real-time parking availability, but for the first time, provides instant directions on mobile map apps. This allows users to select a parking lot for specific directions from their location before even stepping outside.

If you take a look at this map on your computer or phone, you can see which parking lots have more availability at a glance.

If guests want to treat themselves, they can also utilize the mall’s on-point valet services.

Valet service is available in the northwest, near Entrance 7 and in the south expansion, near Entrance 3. South valet features curbside service from Friday to Sunday (and on Thursday, during December) and a swanky valet lounge within underground parking lot P4. You can also arrange to have valet accept your vehicle at one entrance and prepare for it to be picked up at another, simply by visiting

“Our valet program here is most comprehensive in Canada,” says Holley.” We also have a valet lounge with complimentary wi-fi and beverages. Plus we have climate controlled parking and charging stations available.”

All that said, there are a few other tips and tools to keep in mind when visiting the mall in search of that perfect gift or holiday party outfit.

Another valuable tip? Start shopping early in the day.

Right now, Square One is offering extended holiday shopping hours, so you can hit the mall as early as 8 AM on Christmas Eve. As for other days, the mall will be opening at 9 AM and closing at 10 PM. from now until December 30.

“We also have a Holiday Hub on the Square One website that outlines holiday services that will help guests check off their holiday shopping lists with ease,” Holley says. “This section of the site is regularly updated so it is where we recommend guests check back often for holiday programs and events.”

Follow @shopSQUAREONE and visit the website for insider news on promotions from retailers like Urban Decay, Jamie’s Italian, Holt Renfrew and many more. The shopping centre’s social media platforms share up-to-the-minute specials promotions and conests, offering chances to win shopping sprees. You can also save time and energy by having your gifts professionally wrapped at Square One’s gift-wrapping stations for a small fee.

And if you have little ones, be sure to take them to visit Santa to capture a holiday moment before the year ends.
