Young man hit and seriously injured during a car gathering in Brampton

Police ask for the public’s assistance after a young man was hit during a car gathering in Brampton.

There were several vehicles and people gathered in the area of Steeles Avenue East and Goreway Drive in Brampton for the gathering on the weekend, Peel Regional Police said in a press release.

Emergency crews were called around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28 for a person hit during the gathering, police said.

The 20-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and rendered unconscious, police said.

He was transported to a hospital where he underwent surgery for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver failed to help and fled the area, police added.

The Major Collision Bureau is investigating and is asking anyone who witnessed the collision, may have dash camera footage or anyone with any information on the suspect to call (905) 453–2121, ext. 3710.
