Young cyclist hospitalized after Mississauga crash

A cyclist is in hospital tonight after he was struck by a car in Mississauga.

The cyclist was in a parking area near Kariya Dr. and Hurontario St shortly after 8:30 p.m. The area is home to Kariya Park, a landscaped Japanese park in the city centre.

He was hit by a car in the parking area. The young boy was injured badly enough to require hospitalization in a trauma centre. However, police say they are unsure what the extent of his wounds is as yet.
