Young Brampton Male Arrested in Relation to Murder in Hamilton

Hamilton Police have arrested a Brampton man in connection to Hamilton’s first homicide of 2015.

On November 8, 2017, Hamilton police arrested a 20-year-old male in Brampton. The man is the fifth and final suspect charged with the murder of 20-year-old Nathan Miller of Toronto, who was killed almost three years ago.
Police can’t release the name of the accused as he was a minor at the time of the offence.
At the time of the initial investigation, investigators found that at around 9:42 p.m. on January 8, 2015, “five males were allowed access to the residence at 28 Madison Avenue” in Hamilton.

One of the males shot the victim with a firearm. The five suspects proceeded to flee the residence.
Over the course of 2015, police arrested and charged four of the five suspects:
Shamoiey Akindejoye, 21 at the time, of Mississauga was charged with first degree murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon knowing it is unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, careless storage of a firearm, carry a concealed weapon, and two charges of breach of probation.
A 15-year-old at the time young offender from Hamilton was charged with first degree murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing it unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon knowing it is unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, careless storage of a firearm, carry concealed weapon, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of the proceeds of crime.
Jemaal Wilson, 20 at the time, of Toronto, was charged with first degree murder and had an outstanding arrest warrant. At the time of his charge he was in custody on unrelated charged and was subsequently taken to court.
Devonte Martin, 20 at the time, of Etobicoke, was charged with first degree murder.
The young Brampton man’s recent arrest means that police are no longer looking for suspects, and the case is currently – and finally – before the courts.
