A Brampton woman who has only been playing the lottery for a few months is celebrating a huge $100,000 win.

Simranpreet Kaur is a 26-year-old from Brampton who says she started playing OLG games three months ago, usually buying Daily Grand, Lotto Max, Ontario 49, and Pick-4 tickets.

She also occasionally opts to add an Encore play to her tickets – a decision that led her to a $100,000 win.

“I checked my ticket early in the morning and was so shocked to discover I had won big,” Kaur said while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her windfall.

Kaur matched the last six out of seven encore numbers in the correct order to win the $100,000 prize.

“I looked it over multiple times and even asked my friend to double-check it for me. I was so happy and excited.”

The 26-year-old from Brampton says she’s still considering how she’ll use her winnings, but said “you can’t win if you don’t play.”

Encore can be played with most lottery games for an extra $1. The OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.

The winning ticket was purchased on OLG.ca.
