The high prices of gas are driving people to seek alternatives and a pop-up event in Oshawa could help you learn more about switching to an electric vehicle.

The event, called Plug’n Drive, is an information kiosk with EV ambassadors answering questions about electric cars. The interactive displays cover the environmental and economic benefits of driving electric.

There is also a chance, by appointment only, to test drive some of the latest EV models.

In addition, there will be an EV charging station showcase, and takeaway materials containing information about electric cars.

“After your visit, we’re confident you’ll understand why it’s time to electrify your ride,” the website notes.

Cars available for a test drive include the Hyundai IONIQ 5, Kia Sorento PHEV, Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid, and the Volvo XC40 Recharge. Plug’n Drive is a non-profit organization promoting electric vehicles and is brand neutral. While the test drive cars on-site are limited, they support every EV make and model on the market.

The pop-up is at Oshawa Power, 100 Simcoe St. S., Oshawa (in the Metcalfe St. parking lot). It launches July 21 and runs until Aug. 14.
