Hamilton residents will now be able to choose which mRNA COVID-19 they receive — Pfizer or Moderna.

The participating clinics are FirstOntario Centre, St. Joe’s West 5th, and all mobile pop-up clinics.

Hamilton’s health care partners say the decision to offer a choice is due to “an abundant supply of mRNA vaccines.”

Vaccines can be accessed both on a walk-in basis or by booking an appointment.

Information is available at hamilton.ca/GetYourVaccine.

To date, approximately 722,273 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.

Upwards of 76.8 per cent of Hamiltonians over the age of 18 have received a vaccine with 65.4 per cent having completed their vaccine series.

In addition, 66.5 per cent of youth ages 12 to 17 have received a first dose to date and 45.3 per cent have received both.
