Wrong house targeted in shooting on Hamilton mountain: Police

Hamilton Police believe a shooting on the east Mountain earlier this week targeted the wrong house.

In a press release issued Thursday (Nov. 18), police said the incident that took place early Monday (Nov. 15) near Upper Kenilworth and Mohawk Road was targeted but that the suspects in the case identified the wrong house.

Police were called to the house at just before 1 a.m. on the day in question to reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found evidence that a shooting had occurred but those responsible had fled the area already.

No one was injured in the incident.

Detectives are asking area residents to check security cameras for any suspicious activity and to contact police.
