One of the true superstars of professional wrestling will join other celebrities of the sporting world in Mississauga later this month at this country’s largest sports collectables show.
Goldberg, whose wrestling career was defined by an unprecedented reign of dominance and power in the ring during the late 1990s, will be appearing as an autograph guest during the Sports Card Expo, which takes place at the International Centre from April 30 to May 3.
Born William Scott Goldberg, the now 59-year-old became a pop culture icon through a winning streak that lasted 173 matches, culminating in July 1998 when he defeated Hulk Hogan to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He has just started to take part in the autograph circuit.
During the height of his fame, he was the face of professional wrestling and its highest-paid performer.
He is the only wrestler to have held the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and the WWE Universal Championship. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.
Goldberg will be appearing at the expo on May 2.
As Goldberg dominated in the ring, hockey players will dominate the expo, as several stars from the past, including many goaltenders, will also be in attendance at various times, signing pucks, photos, jerseys, and any other piece of memorabilia that fans present.
Fees will apply for all autographs.
Some of the other guests include Jaromir Jagr, Darryl Sittler, Richard Brodeur, Gerry Cheevers, and Ed Belfour, to name a few.
A complete list of autograph guests can be found by following this link.
The largest show of its kind in Canada, the expo has been operating for four decades and will feature 200,000 sq-ft of space for more than 400 vendors selling sports collectibles and memorabilia. Several producers of memorabilia will also be on hand, showing their latest products.
