‘World-class’ circus will soon set up for 10 days in Mississauga

A “world-class” team of illusionists, Mongolian acrobats, flying trapeze artists and comedic performers will be in Mississauga for 10 days in August, and that can mean only one thing — the circus is coming to town.

Celebrating its 52nd anniversary, the Royal Canadian Circus will set up from Aug. 21-30 at Dixie Outlet Mall in the city’s east end. The huge event similarly took over the mall’s parking lot for its August 2025 10-day performance.

Circus officials said they’re bringing an “all-new 2026 production” to Canada’s seventh-largest city as part of their latest nationwide tour, which included recent stops in Hamilton (June 26 to July 5), Brampton (July 9-12) and Vaughan (July 16-19).

Moving forward, the circus will visit Newmarket later this week followed by stops in Markham (July 30 to Aug. 3) and Scarborough (Aug. 6-16) before landing in Mississauga in late August. From there, the show moves on to Burlington (Sept. 3-7).

This year’s production features “a dynamic blend of world-class Mongolian acrobats, gravity-defying flying-trapeze artists, illusionists and comedic performers, combining classic circus artistry with modern theatrical elements,” circus organizers said in a news release. “Enhanced by immersive sound design, dramatic lighting and stunning visuals, the show creates an unforgettable live entertainment experience for all ages.”

Featured performances also include the popular Motorcycle Stunt Team, elite unicycle performers and dynamic Hula-Hoop artistry, officials noted, adding the outdoor space at Dixie Outlet Mall “will be transformed” into a vibrant, immersive experience to be anchored by the signature “big top.”

“Each year, the Royal Canadian Circus brings the magic of the big top to audiences of all ages,” said ringmaster Joseph Bauer. “It’s about more than entertainment; it’s about creating shared experiences of wonder, connection and joy that leave lasting memories. Through a dynamic blend of artistry, spectacle and storytelling, we aim to create moments that captivate audiences and bring people together in a truly memorable way.”

The production also offers “a dynamic pre-show experience” featuring concessions, face painting, photo opportunities and interactive elements for all ages, circus officials added. 

Produced by the Royal Canadian Circus in association with leading global live-entertainment discovery platform, Fever, the production is committed to “animal-free, multi-generational entertainment,” organizers said.

During its stay in Mississauga, the circus will host two-hour shows (including intermission) on weeknights starting at 7:30 p.m., on Saturdays at noon, 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and on Sundays at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Organizers noted the shows are family friendly and open to all ages.

Tickets start at $35 for general admission (children ages three and under are admitted free of change when seated on an adult’s lap). Premium and ringside admission are also available.

The Royal Canadian Circus also travels outside the country to host performances in the U.S. as well.
