Workplace death in Caledon under police investigation

A man has died in Caledon after being trapped under a garage bay door.

The Caledon detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said Thursdsay night that they are assisting with a death investigation at a commercial property in the community. Around 3:20 p.m. on June, Caledon OPP received a report of an unresponsive male on Airport Road, near King Street, in the Town of Caledon.

After finding a man trapped under the garage bay door, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Ontario Ministry of Labour and the federal Department of Labour were notified and are investigating. The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and OPP Forensic Identification Unit (FIS) are assisting with the investigation.

The name of the deceased was withheld to allow for notification of their family.
