Worker dies after accident at racetrack in Hamilton

One person has died following a workplace accident at a Hamilton racetrack on Saturday night.

Hamilton Police say officers were called to Flamboro Speedway, a stock car racing facility on 5th Concession Road West in the Millgrove community, at about 9:15 p.m. after an employee was injured in an incident on the track.

The employee was taken to Hamilton General Hospital, where they later died from their injuries.

Police have not identified the employee or released any additional details, including their age and whether they were male or female.

Police say the Ministry of Labour has taken over the investigation and all inquiries have been directed to the ministry.
