Worker at grocery store in Mississauga tests positive for COVID-19

An employee at a Mississauga Metro has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the company’s coronavirus tracker

According to the website, Metro leaned about the diagnoses on May 28, 2020.

The Metro is located at 3221 Derry Rd W in the Derry Rd. W. 10th Line area.

The employee’s last day of work was May 16.

“We will always contact and follow the guidance of Public Health to ensure the safety of our teammates and customers whenever we are made aware of a confirmed case of COVID-19 in one of our food stores or distribution centres,” Metro writes on its website.

“We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety, and the safety of our customers as well. Where required, we will communicate with customers who have shopped in the impacted location to manage the situation. Out of an abundance of caution, with each case that is reported, we will deep clean and sanitize the location.”
