Renovations on the outdoor space at the Oakville Public Library’s (OPL) Glen Abbey Branch began on Monday.

The construction project at the OPL’s busiest branch is expected to be completed before spring of 2022.

The approximately 1,900 square foot outdoor expansion will see “a new and functional patio” built for customers to enjoy.

The OPL worked with Red Studio Architects to design the space.

“The expansion to the outdoors at OPL’s busiest branch will provide customers with a fresh, welcoming and accessible space for structured library programs as well as leisurely activities,” the OPL said on its website.

No disruption of service at the Glen Abbey Branch is expected for customers. If disruptions do occur, customers will be notified.
