Students in over a dozen programs at CDI College campuses in Mississauga and Brampton can get experience working for the City of Toronto.

Toronto and CDI College have signed a two-year affiliation agreement as a way to enhance employment prospects for college graduates.

The agreement will see Toronto secure practicum placements for CDI College students in a relevant city department, with positions open to 15 academic programs including CDI College’s Paralegal, Addiction Community Service Worker, Business Digital Marketing Management, and Supply Chain Management programs.

The practicum placements vary between 100 to 400 hours and will be offered to all students of the four CDI College campuses, including in Brampton and Mississauga.

CDI says the partnership will help prepare students for “an increasingly competitive job market,” and develop skills and knowledge required to excel in their placements.

“We are absolutely thrilled to solidify our affiliation with the esteemed City of Toronto and CDI College in Ontario,” said Saba Altukmachy, national director of career services with CDI.

“This partnership begins a transformative journey, enriching lives through education and paving the way for impactful professional opportunities. Together, we are not just shaping futures; we are changing lives.”

The first group of CDI College students is expected to start their practicum placements with the City of Toronto in September 2024.
