Hamilton Police are searching for a suspect they say was involved in an early morning stabbing incident Tuesday (Aug. 18).

At approximately 1:00 a.m., police say two residents of the Jerelday Lodge located at 418 Main St E. were “socializing in a room when the suspect without provocation stabbed the victim and quickly fled the scene”.

The victim, a 35-year-old Hamilton man, was transported to hospital and is currently in stable condition with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect remains outstanding along with the weapon used, according to police

23-year-old Jamie Lee Saulteaux is described as a 5-foot-2 female, weighing 148-pounds, with several tattoos on her face, neck, and body.

She’s wanted for aggravated assault and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Police say those who come into contact with Saulteaux should call 911 and not approach her.

Jerelday Lodge is a 12-bed rest home that offers personal care and individual attention for older adults, people with disabilities, those with limited incomes, or those with limitations that prevent them from living alone.
