Woman suffers life-threatening injuries after being struck by car at busy Mississauga intersection

A woman has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle late this morning at a busy intersection in central Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police say the pedestrian was hit by a car at Hurontario St. and Eglinton Ave. just before 11 a.m.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene to speak with them.
Motorists are asked to take an alternate route as Eglinton Ave. is closed west of Sorrento Dr.
The Major Collision Bureau is investigating.
