Woman struck and killed on QEW in Burlington: OPP

A woman was struck and killed Sunday night (June 27) on the QEW in Burlington.
The OPP is appealing for witnesses to come forward after the pedestrian was killed on the highway, near North Shore Boulevard., shortly after 10 p.m.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, OPP said.
It remains unclear why the woman was on the highway and she has yet to be identified, police said.
The North Shore ramp and Toronto-bound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours overnight for an investigation but reopened early Monday morning.
Anyone who might have seen the woman on the highway prior to the crash or who witnessed the collision is urged to call the OPP at 905-681-2511.
