Woman shot during police interaction in Mississauga

One person has been hospitalized after being shot in Mississauga this evening.

Police were called at 10:40 p.m. for a disturbance at a residence in the area of Heatherleigh Avenue and Matheson Boulevard near Mavis.

Officers attended the scene.

During the police interaction, a firearm was discharged and an adult female was struck, police say.

The victim is being taken to a trauma centre with unknown injuries.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
