Woman seriously injured by object thrown through windshield in Cannington

A woman was seriously injured while driving through the north Durham community of Cannington after an object burst through her windshield.

The victim was driving near Cameron St. (the village’s main drag) and Albert St. around 7:45 p.m. on Jan. 27. As she drove by, an object was thrown at her windshield and punctured through.

The driver ended up with serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. She has since been listed as in stable condition.

Durham Regional Police were informed of the collision days later on Jan. 30. After launching an investigation, police have called for any witnesses to come forward.
