Bradi McCoy, 22, was victim of acid attack in Milton last week.

The Milton community is rallying around a young woman who was the victim of an assault last week.

More than $45,000 of the goal of $200,000 has been raised for Bradi McCoy, who suffered ‘life-altering’ injuries after an acid attack near her home on March 9.

According to Halton police alert issued at the time, the suspect in the attack, which occurred on Syer Dr., was believed to be female, wearing bell-bottom style pants, black jacket, black balaclava and yellow glasses. No information about the seriousness of the attack were released.

According to the fundraiser on GoFundMe, McCoy is a bright, bubbly, enthusiastic 22-year-old young woman.

“Bradi is well-known and loved in our community. For many years she has shared her talents with the Town of Milton in the I-CAN special needs programs, and in various leadership roles in aquatics and recreation. Bradi is currently an EA with the Halton District School Board and her dream is to become a teacher.”

The GoFundMe was started by family friend Erin Sproule.

“On March 9, 2023, Bradi was the victim of a devastating acid attack near her home. She has suffered life-altering injuries and will have a long recovery period. We are asking our community to come together and support Bradi’s recovery and significant future medical needs. All funds raised will go directly to Bradi (via her Mother, Nancy Van Dorp) for her ongoing recovery and future expenses.”
