A woman nearly ran down officers as she fled their attempt to arrest her on outstanding warrants.

Durham Regional Police officers went out to a home near Brennan Rd. and Daniels Cr. in Ajax in an effort to arrest a wanted woman on Apr. 26. However, as the officers approached the woman sped off in a car. She collided with police cruisers and nearly hit the officers, police claim.

The woman managed to get away and evaded capture for nearly two weeks. Police managed to track her down on May 9, this time in a home by Kingston Rd. and Notion Rd. on the border of Pickering and Ajax. This second house is about three kilometres west of the first.

The Offender Management Unit and the Tactical Support Unit raided the home that day and a woman without incident.

Zeanka Morin, 29 of Toronto, is charged with dangerous driving, two counts of assaulting an officer, two counts of assault with a weapon, and failure to comply with release orders. She will remain in custody until a bail hearing. Police did not specify what the original outstanding arrest warrant was for.

Anyone with information pertinent to the investigation can call the police 1-888-579-1520 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
