Police are seeking witnesses to a collision last week that left a woman in critical condition after she was struck by an SUV while walking on a busy Mississauga street.

Major Collision Bureau investigators with Peel Regional Police say the 25-year-old woman was hit by a silver Chevrolet Equinox as she walked on Burnhamthorpe Road East, east of Cawthra Road, just before 5 a.m. on Sept. 25.

Police said the pedestrian was rushed to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The Mississauga man who was driving the SUV “remained on the scene and rendered assistance,” police said.

He suffered injuries not considered life threatening.

Anyone who was in the area on that date and around that time who may have witnessed the collision or have dash camera footage is urged to call police at 905-453–2121, ext. 3710. Witnesses can also provide information anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
