Woman charged with threatening person with gun in Niagara Falls home

A 30-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly pointing a gun and threatening another person in a Niagara Falls home on Monday (July 8).

Niagara Falls Regional Police were called to a home in the area of Senaca Street and River Road after receiving a call of an armed person in a home.

Upon arrival at the residence around 5:06 p.m., police learned a firearm had been pointed at another person in the home. The located the female suspect in the home and arrested her.

A search warrant for the residence was issued on Tuesday (July 9) and police would seize a firearm.

Kayla Thorpe, 30, of Niagara Falls was arrested and has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats.

Thorpe was held in custody pending a bail hearing on July 9, 2024, in St. Catharines.
