Woman charged with misappropriating funds from north Oshawa dental clinic

A 43-year-old woman faces fraud charges following an investigation into the misappropriation of funds from a dental clinic in north Oshawa.
The Durham Police Financial Crimes Unit conducted an investigation into $40,000 in funds that went missing over a 14-month span from the My Dentist My Doctor Clinic on Taunton Road.
Following an audit at the clinic, investigators received reports of an office manager who had allegedly been taking funds received from customers for her own personal benefit.
Jean Hakim (aka Jean Persaud) of Oshawa is charged with Fraud Over $5,000; Theft Over $5,000; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
She was released on an Undertaking.
