A January 30 accident that saw two West Niagara Secondary School students involved has now resulted to charges to the driver.

In the incident, a 14-year-old Grimsby teen was struck by a black H3 Hummer SUV being driven by a 17-year-old girl on Livingston Ave., shutting the road down for most of the day.

While originally assessed with “life threatening injuries,” the 14-year-old girl was released from the hospital and was recuperating at home two weeks later.

However, Niagara Police have continued to investigate the accident and yesterday (March 27) charged the driver, who is now 18, with careless driving.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have information is asked to contact detectives by calling 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009170.
