Woman charged in relation to fatal Brampton fire

A woman has been charged in relation to a fatal fire that occurred in Brampton.

During the evening of May 7, 2020, first responders were called to a house fire located at 5 Mill Street North.

After the fire was extinguished, two bodies were found. The victims were identified as 65-year-old Keith Powell, and 59-year-old Darell Terrell–both from Brampton.

After a thorough investigation, investigators with the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have charged 34-year-old Amanda Smith, of no fixed address, with two counts of Manslaughter, two counts of Criminal Negligence Cause Death, and one count of Arson Endangering Life.
