Two people were injured in an early-morning fire at a Burlington house today, Sept. 16.

More than 20 Burlington firefighters were at a home on Winding Way, near Guelph Line and Hwy. 407, that suffered more than $500,000 in a blaze that started just after 1 a.m.

An older man and woman both suffered from smoke inhalation. The woman also had burns and was airlifted to hospital, according to Halton police.

Burlington firefighters believe the fire started in the living room, although no specific cause has been determined.

The Fire Marshal will take over the investigation because of the injuries suffered.
