Witnesses sought in Burlington after cyclist hit by driver

Police in Burlington are asking for the public to help with investigating a collision where a cyclist was seriously hurt last week.

The Halton Regional Police (HRPS) says that at around 1:55 p.m. on June 21, a week ago yesterday, a cyclist was travelling eastbound on Spruce Avenue. The cyclist was struck by the driver blue Nissan Sentra in the intersection of Spruce Ave. and Starview Road.

The police are requesting that any witnesses to this collision, or any residents who may be in possession of video surveillance footage in the area of Spruce Ave. and Starview Rd. contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065.

The cyclist was transported to Hamilton General Hospital with serious injuries. The involved driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the police investigation, HRPS said.
