Even though more than 100 people were in attendance, Peel Police say they are having a difficult time finding witnesses to talk after three people were shot at a Mississauga party last night (August 8).

The shooting took place at what is being described as a residence at Hurontario St. and World Dr., a mostly industrial/commercial area just north of Highway 401.

Two woman received non-life threatening injuries but the condition of a male victim is considered more serious.

After receiving multiple reports of gun fire, when police arrived at the scene there were no victims to be found and most of the party-goers had scattered. Later the male victim contacted police at another location and it was learned the women managed to make it to the hospital on their own.

Witnesses have been reluctant to speak to police.

So far investigators have spoken to less than 10 people who were at the party, meaning more than 90 other potential witnesses could have information.

“We would like to speak to those 90 people,” said police adding that anyone with information is encouraged to contact investigators.

Information about how many shooters were involved or their descriptions have been released.
