The Pigeon, located at the corner of Airport Rd and Homestead Dr in Hamilton has permanently closed.

Hamilton is down one of its most popular fried chicken and barbecue joints.

Owners Matt and Jenny took to social media to announce the permanent closure of The Pigeon in Mount Hope on Tuesday (Aug. 31).

Their family’s health and well-being were cited as the reason for the closure.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the permanent closure of The Pigeon,” reads the post on the restaurant’s Instagram and Facebook pages.

“We want to thank everyone who has supported us over the past three years. We want to focus on the wellbeing of our family and closing the business had to be our first step. We appreciate your understanding and support of our decision. Matt and Jenny.”

Opened in 2018, The Pigeon served its famous fried chicken on a bun, as well as ribs, pork belly, pasta, salad, and fries.

Located at the corner of Airport Rd and Homestead Dr, The Pigeon made the pivot to takeout and catering during the pandemic.
