Pickering is welcoming residents, visitors and anyone with a sense of imagination and wonder to Esplanade Park next weekend for the beginning of the Winter Night, City Lights display.

You will be able to take a winter walk through the downtown park and experience the magic from November 25 until January 31 with the opening weekend of November 25-27 set aside for special activities for the whole family.

This event will include the lighting of the park, fireworks, activities, live entertainment, food vendors, roaming characters and a visit from Old St. Nick himself. Choose between Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening and bring the family out for some holiday fun.

  • Food & Toy donations for St.Paul’s on the Hill Food Bank and DRPS Toy Drive are appreciated.
  • Free parking is available at Chestnut Hill Development Recreation Complex. Parking is limited – if possible, please walk, take transit or ride share.
  • Dogs are welcome and must be leashed at all times.

The event, sponsored by OPG and Elexicon Energy, is free, but ticket reservation is encouraged to allow planning staff to ensure enough activities and vendors on site.

After the weekend’s festivities the park will remain lit up at night through to the end of January.
