A winter event is set to hit Celebration Square in Mississauga later this month.

The event, called “Winter Magic presents: Icescapes” is set to be held on Jan. 28 and will feature several winter activities such as live ice carving, food trucks, a DJ and photo ops with Mayor Bonnie Crombie and members of Council.

Attendees are also encouraged to bring their skates to enjoy an outdoor winter skate during the event. Skate rentals will be free from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The event will kick off at 2:00 p.m. with the Mayor and Members of Council and guests will be able to enjoy family-friendly “frosty” fun including ice block building, face painting, roaming characters and an artisan market until 5:00 p.m.

A live ice-carving demonstration will also take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Several food trucks by Food Truck’n Events will be on-site for guests to grab a bite at and will include Pizza Italia, Real Empanada, Sumo Seafood Food, The Arepa Republic, Tasto, Communal Eats, La Fiesta and Coffee Brake.

Guests will receive one free voucher to redeem for a hot beverage from Coffee Brake which will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

The event is free and suitable for all ages.
