Mississauga winter cleanup crews worked through the night to salt major roads and side streets after a spell of freezing rain hit the city and surrounding areas last night.

City of Mississauga winter maintenance officials said this morning (Feb. 17) via social media that crews worked “to treat priority and secondary routes, and have started treating bus stops and priority sidewalks early this morning.”

They add that crews will continue working throughout the day to ensure roads and sidewalks are safe to travel upon.

Weather reports show that Mississauga will likely be clear of any snow or freezing rain throughout the weekend, but Monday may bring some rain as temperatures are expected to climb several degrees above zero.
