One lucky lottery player in Ontario could be celebrating the ultimate Mother’s Day weekend surprise after a winning Lotto Max ticket worth a staggering $70 million was sold for Friday night’s draw.

The winning ticket for the May 8, 2026, jackpot draw was purchased somewhere in Brampton, according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
In addition to the massive jackpot win, several other winning tickets tied to MAXMILLIONS, MAXPLUS and ENCORE prizes were also sold across Ontario.
A MAXMILLIONS ticket worth $333,333.40 was sold in Milton.
The prize is shared with two other winning tickets sold in Quebec and Western Canada.
Multiple MAXPLUS tickets worth $100,000 each were also sold across the province, including:
- Two tickets in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell
- One ticket in Simcoe County
- One ticket in Kitchener
Another MAXPLUS prize worth $33,333.40 was sold in the Parry Sound and Nipissing area, while a second shared $33,333.40 MAXPLUS ticket was sold in Stoney Creek.
Meanwhile, ENCORE tickets worth $100,000 each were sold in Lucan, the Kawartha Lakes region and Toronto.
Lottery officials are urging players to check their tickets as soon as possible using the OLG app or at a local lottery retailer.
Since 2009, Ontario LOTTO MAX players have won more than $9.9 billion, including 122 jackpot wins and 1,003 MAXMILLIONS prizes, according to OLG.
