The winners of a massive $40 million lottery jackpot have been revealed in Canada.
Joseph Gosselin-Rompré and Mylène Bourgeois, who are from the Montérégie region in Quebec, won the top prize in the June 26 Lotto Max draw.
The couple learned about their life-changing win when returning home from a fishing trip, Loto-Québec recently announced in a press release.
“We couldn’t believe it at first,” said Gosselin-Rompré, who is in his 40s.
He checked the ticket on his phone and then went to a retailer to confirm and validate the ticket.
And sure enough, they did in fact win $40 million.

Gosselin-Rompré said the windfall means he will have more time to do his favourite hobbies: fishing and golfing.
He’s also looking to go on a golf getaway and buy a boat.
The couple also plans to treat their three children and are considering whether to renovate or sell their home.
The convenience store where the winning ticket was purchased will also receive a one per cent commission of $400,000, Loto-Québec said.
