Wild teen brawl in Grimsby leads to four youths being charged

When Niagara Police arrived at a wild scene in Grimsby, it must have looked like a teenage gang fight straight out of “West Side Story”… times ten.

Responding to a call in the Willow Way and Hemlock Way are on September 21, they came upon over 50 young men duking it out and estimated that many more scattered when they saw the police.

Within 24 hours, they saw a posted video of a 13-year-old male victim being punched and kicked by at least seven persons. They reported that he suffered minor injuries.

In the end, four people were charged, including three minors.

A 13-year-old male from West Lincoln was charged with robbery and assault.

A 15-year-old male from West Lincoln was charged with robbery.

A 14-year-old male from Lincoln was charged with robbery.

Tyler Susi, 19, of Grimsby was charged with robbery.

Those arrested have all been released from custody with future court dates.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing with further arrests and charges are anticipated.

They asked, “Any member of the public in possession of the evidentiary video is asked not to share it as it could identify the victim and the charged young persons (whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada). Please delete the video.”
