With the uncertain nature of virtual and in-class learning leading to mental health issues for both parents and children throughout this pandemic, Family Services Durham and both local school boards have teamed up to offer workshops and seminars to help them get back to some semblance of normal.

Parents and caregivers of children (four to 12 years old) are invited to attend a virtual workshop on August 26 about supporting children’s mental health with the transition back to school.

The workshop is called From Zoom to Classroom: How to support your child’s social-emotional development when returning to school.

Nicole Tuzi from Sick Kids Learning Institute will host the workshop, which will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 on the evening of August 26. Click here to register

Parents and caregivers can also access a tip sheet from School Mental Health Ontario to support the mental health and well-being of their child or teen through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
