Whitby woman with G1 arrested while driving on the rims in Pickering

A woman with a G1 licence was arrested in the early hours of the morning Wednesday after police noticed sparks coming off her car as she drove.

Police spotted her in Pickering around 2:30 this morning. They tried to pull the woman over, but she initially refused to stop. She was later blocked in by additional cruisers a short trek down the road.

The driver, 23, was arrested for impaired operation, driving with too high a blood alcohol content, failure to stop at a red light, being a novice driver with blood alcohol over zero, driving without a qualified driver and driving at an unlawful hour for her G1.

She has been released with conditions, but her car has been impounded and her license suspended.
