Whitby records 14 new COVID-19 cases on the weekend

After recording 32 new COVID-19 cases in Durham Region on Friday, the numbers dropped on the weekend to 19 and 20 for Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Oshawa and Clarington each recorded eight new cases Friday, while Whitby had the most cases on both weekend days with six on Saturday and eight on Sunday. Scugog and Brock each recorded zero cases on all three days.

There are a total of 179 active cases of the virus in the Region. There are three people in hospital and two in ICU.

There are ten outbreaks in Durham schools and day cares, including a widespread outbreak at Monseigneur Leo Cleary CS in Courtice that has forced the Durham Region Health Department to close the school.
