Retirement, a new car and travel are on the mind of a police officer and Whitby resident after a $1 million Gold Ball lottery win this spring.

Charlyn G scored the prize in the April 29 Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball draw.

The 52-year-old, a regular lottery player for many years, bought her ticket on OLG.ca and only discovered she had won after OLG sent her an email.

“I didn’t know how much I won until I logged into my account on the OLG app. When I saw the prize amount, I had to review my math skills while counting all the zeros!” she said with a laugh.

She shared the news with her husband shortly after she found out. “He couldn’t believe it,” she said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her winnings, “It’s absolutely insane!”

“I’m excited to enjoy this newfound sense of freedom.”

The Classic Draw offers a fixed $5 million jackpot for every draw, while the Gold Ball Draw guarantees a $1 million prize, or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million.
