Whitby motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in accident

A 60-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured after he lost control of his bike in Whitby Sunday evening.

On Sunday, May 29 at approximately 6:10 p.m., members from Central West Division were dispatched to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on White Ash Drive near Sugar Maple Crescent. Officers attended the area and discovered an injured motorcycle rider lying on the ground nearby a damaged Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The motorcycle appeared to have been travelling eastbound on White Ash Drive when the rider lost control, striking a curb and going off the roadway. He sustained serious injuries and was air-lifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene closed the roadway for several hours while evidence was collected.
