Whitby man dead after single-vehicle accident in plaza

A 30-year-old Whitby man has died after losing control of his vehicle and driving into a commercial storefront.

West Division officers responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a grey Honda in a plaza parking lot at Salem Road and Rossland Road Tuesday night at approximately 10: 15 p.m. It’s believed the driver suffered a medical episode before losing control of the vehicle. The Honda struck a commercial storefront. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to assist with this investigation.

A post-mortem will be conducted to determine if this collision was indeed caused by a medical episode.
